The Haircut, a New Year's Tale - Donna Callea
This was a surprisingly good read. It is light romantic fare, and does not pretend to be anything more. You know from the outset how it will end. What sets it apart from the myriad of other books/novellas of this genre is that the protagonists are surprisingly well written, rather than just two dimensional stereotypes of what they ought to be.

I can't say the same is true for the villains. They are pretty much cookie cutter variety characters.

Nevertheless, I found it to be a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.
